Elders and Staff

Pastor Rob Parson

Rob has worked in ministry and lived in the North East for more than a decade, but was born and raised in London. Prior to coming to Wooler in 2022, Rob studied for four years at Oakhill Theological College. He is married to an American, Robin, and has five young boys. Rob’s key responsibilities are leadership of the elders, preaching and pastoral care, as well as anything else rural ministry presents. He enjoys answering questions about Christianity, telling people about Jesus, spending time with his family, reading, being outdoors, being active and the odd bit of gardening.

Mark Fulton - Elder

Mark is an elder and has been a member since 2002. Originally from Tyneside, works in Berwick and helps with the children and youth work.

Steve Hawkin - Elder and Trustee

Steve is one of the elders and has been a member here for over twenty years. Originally from West Yorkshire Steve works during the week over the border.

Matt Coates - Church Planting Resident

Originally from the very flat county of Lincolnshire, Matt moved to the North East as a student and loved the area so much he never left. He is married to Rosie and together they have three young boys. He previously worked in finance before working and training at churches in Durham and Gateshead as well as studying with Crosslands Seminary prior to moving further north to Wooler. Part of Matt's role involves supporting the work of Rob and the elders in the ministry of the church. In addition to this he is also a Church Planting Resident with "The Rural Project" looking at the wider North Northumberland area.

Trustees

The Elders are supported in the running of the church by our trustees. The Trustees are Steve Hawkin, Alistair Fairnington and Pat Thompson.
